My Experience
I have had seven years of paid experience with various animals. I have worked at a veterinary clinic for two years, getting to know a lot of cats and dogs. We even had a flying squirrel one time! I worked for six years at a dog kennel with a very large variety of breeds. I also worked for an ethical and very responsible goldendoodle breeder for six years, and have been present for the birth of many litters. I have cared for an abundance of them over the years. I have also worked with kittens and cats. I have found stray cats and dogs and nursed them back to health before finding them a good home, of finding the home they belong to. I am a very large supporter of rescued animals. I have volunteered at the Arizona Humane Society for a year, working with the animals there. I also volunteered at an Exotic Bird Rescue for a year, and have handled many birds, including macaws. I have worked with rescue horses, llamas, and alpacas. I even helped with the annual sheering of the alpacas! In addition to volunteering with rescues, I also have a knack of finding injured wildlife and either healing them and then releasing them once they are ready and able to go back into the wild, or take them to wildlife rehabilitation centers, where they can heal. I have helped many wild animals from birds, bats, raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels, deer, and more! I have worked with animals that require medication for seven years now, and am confident in my abilities to administer. I have also been operating my business for over four years, and hope to see it grow as I continue to help more and more people and their animals. If you would like to know more about me and/or my experience, please feel free to ask!
A Little About Me
Hello! My name is Adrianna Matthews. I have loved animals since I was a little girl. I have grown up with cats, dogs, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish, both salt and fresh water, throughout my family. I have been horseback riding for many years and have helped with the care of the horse. I currently have two dogs Snickerdoodle and Clover, one cat Ziggy, along with fresh and salt water fish. I also have four sugar gliders, Sugar and Spice, and my two rescues Bob and Grumpy. A rescue rabbit named Vader, and a rescue hedgehog named Waffles. I think animals are wonderful creatures and believe they should be treated with respect, love, and care. I decided to start pet sitting not only for the fun of taking care of so many different animals, but for those who really need someone to be there for their pets when they are away. I have always been worried about leaving when I have sugar gliders, due to the fact that not many people know about them or how to take care of them properly. That got me to thinking that there must be others who are in the same situation as me, and I truly hope to be able to help by taking care of your loved ones, no matter how big or small. I hope to provide you and your pet with a sense of relief and security while you are away.
I have an Associate degree in business from Chandler Gilbert Community College, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business from the W.P Carey School of Business at ASU. With my knowledge gained from my schooling, I hope to eventually open a dog kennel establishment, where my clients can drop off their dogs while they go away from home. I am also hoping to open a rescue for small animals, in the hopes of finding them all wonderful and loving homes. Currently I am pursuing yet another Associate Degree in Science from Chandler Gilbert Community College. From there, I hope to be re-admitted to ASU, only this time into the school of Earth and Space Exploration. I hope to gain a second Bachelor's Degree in Astrobiology and Biogeosciences, with a minor in Astronomy or Geology, I haven't quite decided yet!
